Leading Writers Through the AI Transformation

Role:

Senior KB Editor & AI Lead

Challenge:

As a Senior KB Editor, helping other writers grow has always been part of the role. Generative AI changed what "growth" looked like overnight. Some writers were eager to experiment; others were skeptical or overwhelmed by the pace of change. The team needed real training and hands-on practice to build genuine confidence with the new tools.

Contribution:

Provide ongoing 1-on-1 mentoring to writers, helping them sharpen their writing, adapt AI tools into their daily workflows, and align with KB editorial standards. Beyond individual mentoring, designed and delivered group trainings for both the KB team and the broader content organization. Built an AI learning path curriculum covering beginner through advanced skills. Host regular AI office hours, drop-in sessions where writers get hands-on help with whatever AI challenges they're stuck on. Design and facilitate structured workshops on practical topics like building reusable prompt libraries, with live exercises.

Outcome:

The team has shifted from cautious early experimentation with AI to confident daily use, with writers across multiple time zones using the prompt patterns and tools that came out of these sessions. Formal performance feedback has called out the work as central to making AI adoption approachable across the writing team, and the mentoring and enablement is an ongoing piece of my Senior KB Editor role.
