Stepping Up: Base44 Acquisition Documentation
Role:
Senior KB Editor (Acting Lead)
Challenge:
When Wix acquired Base44 (an AI-powered app builder for developers), the documentation needed to be integrated into Wix's ecosystem. My manager went on vacation for 4 weeks right as this work ramped up, and the team needed someone to step in and keep the documentation moving.
Contribution:
Stepped in to cover lead responsibilities for a 4-week period during the integration ramp-up. Quickly learned an entirely new docs-as-code toolchain — Mintlify for documentation sites, Markdown for content authoring, GitHub pull requests for version control and review workflows, and branch-based versioning. Used these tools to create and update several developer-facing articles for the Base44 SDK and new features, ensuring they met Wix's content standards while remaining technically accurate for a developer audience.
Outcome:
Demonstrated adaptability and fast learning under pressure. Went from zero experience with docs-as-code workflows to independently shipping developer documentation in a new toolchain within weeks. The experience expanded my technical skill set and comfort with developer-oriented content and workflows.
